Workshop Description – If you are looking for cost effective IoT solutions to connect and monitor your factory floor operations then you’ll want to attend this workshop.  See and learn how to start your SMART manufacturing pathway.  See what Kirby Risk and ifm have developed as easy, cost effective product offerings to assist manufacturers.  See live demonstrations of SMART technologies with direct applications of interest to you and your company.  Participate in open Q&A discussions with our presenters and other manufacturers with the same questions, concerns, and problems.


John Mack, Business Consultant for Kirby Risk Electrical Supply, has 35+ years of industrial experience designing & implementing plant control systems.  In his current role, he helps customers develop a roadmap to meet their goals utilizing process data and IIoT tools.

John Driscoll and Kurt Radcliffe, are Senior Sales Engineers with ifm, since 1969, ifm has developed, manufactured and marketed sensors and controls technology to industries that include assembly and robotics, automotive, material handling, metal forming, mobile equipment, plastics, and food and beverage.

Purdue’s Manufacturing Testbed Team:  At IMI, IN-MaC (Indiana Manufacturing Competitiveness Center) has developed our IMT (Intelligence Manufacturing Testbed).  At the testbed, we have installed a variety of IoT devices and systems on industrial equipment to show and demonstrate SMART manufacturing solutions.  Both ifm and Kirby Risk have partnered with Purdue on this effort.

This event will be held at Purdue’s Indiana Manufacturing Institute (IMI) at 1105 Endeavour Drive, West Lafayette Indiana.  The event is free, but registration for the event is required as space is limited.  If you are a business owner, decision maker, manufacturing engineer, or involved in the maintenance of your operations, this workshop is for you!
